Joshua P. Levitt, N.D. specializes in natural family medicine with a subspecialty in orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Levitt educates and empowers his patients by explaining the roots of medical problems in words that they can understand. He uses a unique fusion of nutrition, herbal medicine, and hands-on bodywork techniques to treat a wide spectrum of common and complex medical problems.

Born and raised in Southern California, he earned his undergraduate degree in Physiological Science from UCLA. His medical training began in Seattle WA, where he earned a doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine from the prestigious Bastyr University. Dr Levitt completed his residency training in an integrative family practice in Seattle with medical doctors, acupuncturists, and other alternative health care practitioners. He practices with an open-mind and respect for both conventional and alternative medicine. He offers his patients his knowledge and experience in primary care and naturopathic medicine which allows for a “best of both worlds” approach.

In addition to his practice at Whole Health, Dr. Levitt is active in political and academic arenas. He is the former Vice President and legislative committee chair of the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association (CNPA). He collaborates with the Integrative Medicine Center and the Prevention Research Center at Griffin Hospital. He has also trained naturopathic medical students as a clinical supervisor at the University of Bridgeport Naturopathic Medicine program. He has lecture experience at Bastyr University, University of Bridgeport, Southern Connecticut State University, and local community venues.

Dr. Levitt is remarkable in his ability to do all of the above with a casual attitude, a friendly smile, and a bedside manner reminiscent of the old time family doctor.
